The Trevor Project is the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people. We are a non-profit that provides 24/7 life-saving support via phone, text and chat. We also operate the world’s largest safe space social networking site for LGBTQ youth and run innovative research, education and advocacy programs. We’ve been saving lives every day for 20 years.

Overview of the role

The Chief Financial & Administrative Officer oversees all business and administrative functions that enable Trevor’s life-saving work. The core functions involved in this role are: finance, operations, and IT. The Chief Financial & Administrative Officer also serves as a senior member of the leadership team, advising the CEO and working closely with other direct reports to build an organization that can efficiently and effectively serve exponentially more LGBTQ youth.

What you’ll do

  • Lead financial planning and management, both internally and with required third-parties, such as auditors

  • Manage operations in Trevor’s offices in New York, LA and DC, including potential office expansions

  • Oversee the complex IT environment that supports our lifesaving work

  • Manage Trevor’s core business partnerships and continually identify opportunities for Trevor to make the most of our resources

  • Work closely with department leaders to develop and track budgets that align with Trevor’s mission and strategic priorities

  • Advise the CEO on high-priority initiatives and opportunities for Trevor

  • Work with the Board and relevant committees as they execute their governance and oversight responsibilities
